Born in Melbourne, 1962. I have been a painter of the surreal since 1977. My images elucidate the bizarre, fantastic and surreal. I am self-taught. Computer manipulated photomontages deriving from my own photographic material date from 1999. These digital works are an extension of the iconography I developed in my oil paintings.

An unfortunate post script. Phantom died on 17 July 2025 after a 7 week battle with what was believed to be an Autoimmune Anaemia - though the symptoms (which included a fever and anorexia) indicated it was instead Infectious Anaemia (alternately known as "Feline Hemotropic Mycoplasmosis" or "Haemoplasmosis"). This would usually prove fatal only when a cat's immune system is compromised. As the treatment for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anaemia (IMHA) involves suppressing the cat's immune system with steroids, it proved fatal to our very sad sick purring boy. Left, a severely jaundiced Phantom 2 days before his death. A blood transfusion, antibiotics and stopping the steroids could likely still have saved him.
